The Braintree Firefighters Association is the Union organization for the members of the Braintree Fire Department. Local 920 of the International Association of Firefighters was chartered on May 20, 1947. There were only 20 permanent members of the Braintree Fire Department at that time. Since then, our organization has grown to a membership of 88 full time paid professional firefighters when fully staffed. Our members are trained for all manners of emergency response and provide the Town of Braintree and our surrounding communities (through mutual aid), with fire suppression, emergency medical services, motor vehicle and transportation crash rescue, hazardous material response, marine fire and rescue services, fire prevention and education, and more.
